Embracing Change

It is hard to change, especially when we get attached to the way things are, and the way we have always done it,

The struggle with accepting change is tied to attachment, Attachment to the ease and comfort of how things are done and how we have always done it. Letting go of attachment is a key to teaching yoga. Its is good to remember that when we cling to something that no longer works. We will never move forward and that what wants to come to us is so great if we just let go.

So what is the fear all about, going into the new normal?

Why is there such a back lash of people not wanting wear masks in stores and where you cant physically stay 6 feet apart?

The struggle should not be so hard, why is it that you feel you should not wear a mask to protect yourself and others?

Is it because you have been told that you have to as its now mandatory? Do you feel your rights have been taken away?

Do you feel like you cant breathe in them?

Do you feel you will look silly in the mask?

These are really important questions to think about.

The mask is not just to help you, but it also helps others around you.

Maybe once you realize its not that big of a deal to wear the mask while shopping or where you are not able to be 6 feet apart, you will embrace the new change, yes its not that fun to wear one, (Actually who thought they would ever be able to go into a bank with a mask on) but if we can put a positive out look onto it, then we may be able to learn to embrace the new normal that we are now faced with. Ladies we can also buy masks to match our clothes.

Why is it so hard for people to social distance to save others and yourself from Covid 19? I know for myself and my husband we haven’t been really affected with having to social distance. The only thing for us is our businesses have been affected. I have had to cancel some up coming Yoga Retreats, and some in person workshops, but I have moved my things to online. My husband has been doing conferences and meeting vie the internet, appose to in person.

As for hanging out with family and friends it was hard when had to isolate after traveling back home from our Florida home to Canada after already being away from family and friends for six months.

We got threw it and came out the other side with new ways to take our businesses in a new direction.

Of course we are nervous about how our businesses will thrive, but we are embracing the new normal.

For me the workshops will look a lot different, they will be virtual. Is it the best way, no not at all as being in person is always better, but we will be learning as we go.

It is hard to change, especially when we get attached to the way things are, and the way we have always done it.

My hope is that we can all be respectful of what other peoples views are and lets embrace this new normal that we have been given in these trying times. I believe that most people are good and I hope that we will come out the other side stronger and more caring to thy neighbor.
